Magical Oyster Roast

The Magic of an Oyster Roadt explained by Lori Baden

Magical Bluffton Oysters

Honestly, before I moved here, I’d eat an occasional oyster on a half shell. But it generally wasn’t my thing.

Until I moved here, and experienced the magic and beauty of an oyster roast bringing together friends and communities. It’s hard to explain but it is such a bonding experience. The closest thing I can compare it to, is communion at a church.

It’s one of the things I’ve missed most since the pandemic started, but last night, I finally had the opportunity to enjoy once more with a few select friends outdoors.

Lowcountry Communion -aka Oyster Roast

As I watched good friends enjoy the fabulous Bluffton oysters, and some great Lowcountry Boil I must add, I just took it all in. The food, the smells, the sights, the laughter and the friendships. I realize how blessed we are to live in such a glorious place with magical experiences. God is good.

Steaming oysters is an art form.

Election Day Thoughts

Lori Baden shares her prayers for peace and unity this Election Day 2020.

I don’t share my personal political views online. They are mine, and yours are yours. But I do care and I do love, everyone. So here is what I DO have to say…

I just pray that the coming days bring peace… and that all this riot preparation is all for naught. I hope you will join me in prayer.

Let us ALL love our country and each other, and peacefully work together to make it better. United We Stand. Always. Amen.

AirBnB glitch ruins my honeymoon…

AirBnB glitch ruins my honeymoon. Please read so it doesn’t ruin yours!

Crying so hard I can barely breathe…

I went to update info on my AirBnB account this morning, including my updated ID since I changed my name after getting married. I thought I was doing the right thing.

Well apparently uploading a new ID CANCELLED my honeymoon reservation (which is stupid, stupid, stupid!), and somebody booked it before I could get it corrected with AirBnb, in spite of instantly messaging and calling.

I am beyond devastated…
And now there is nothing available even remotely close or nice, especially that accepts a pet (Cinder was going with us). I don’t know how I’m even going to tell Joe when he gets up. 😭

Not to mention they said it would be 5-15 days to get my refund, which I will need to rebook anything anyway. And Joe has already put in for his time off work. I just can’t believe this…

I think every person using AirBnB, especially Brides to Be who change their name, should be fully aware of this glitch. I told them I would be taking to my social media accounts and possibly contacting the news. I don’t want anyone to experience this devastation.

I have no idea what we are going to do… I just hope Joe still loves me after this.

It was bad enough that last year I sacrificed immediately going on our honeymoon, because of work. That sacrifice was so appreciated with me being the recipient of a layoff this year from that same company.

I’m so done 2020. So done.

July 2020 Existing and Pending Home Sales

Home sales in July were higher than last month and than a year ago, and mortgage rates are at record lows. However, tight inventory remains a hurdle, and the economy is not yet back to normal.

Reasons to celebrate…

It’s been a while and this will be short, but expect to see more posts from me soon, but I have lots of reasons to celebrate during these trying times.  I always try to focus on the positive and hope you are too.

I’m celebrating my daughter Hannah who graduated with honors amongst the chaos of Covid 19, from Belmont University and just moved to Nashville permanently to pursue a career in music business.

I’m celebrating the health of my son Jacob who is Charlotte and praying that he finds another job soon. He’s super smart and great at health and nutrition which a lot people need right now, so I’m hoping he’ll focus on that vs Food and Beverage.

I’m celebrating that my husband Joe has kept his job at Gulfstream so far, although he was switched to weekends. But that may not be an entirely bad thing…

Because… I’m celebrating that I’m now back in real estate sales full time vs being in a Broker or Management position. That means I’ll have my weekends free to work with you or someone you know.

I’m celebrating eXp Realty because even though they had to make some recent cutbacks, this model was built for this economic crises. We still have over 60 hrs of live training and networking per week!

I’m also celebrating that we now have over 28,000 agents that I can refer you to in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia.

Let me know if I can ever be of assistance to you in the Hilton Head/ Bluffton/ Beaufort markets or if you need a great referral agent. 853.505.3132

And last but not least, I’m celebrating Mother’s Day weekend. It’s the hardest and best job I’ve ever had. I’m sure all of you will join me in that celebration!

I look forward to more celebrations with you.

Effort…

Do you recognize limitations or effort?

Sometimes it’s the little things that inspire me and really make me think.

Like seeing this little Eastern Box Turtle climbing our fence just a bit ago. He was trying SO hard in spite of his limitations and obstacles. I really admire his effort.

Whether it be your in your business, your relationships, or in yourself…. Do you see limitations and obstacles? Or do you see effort?

By the way, I rewarded this little guy’s effort by placing him in the thicker greener grass on the other side. He earned it. Maybe there is somebody’s effort you need to recognize too…
