Veterans Day Deals for the Hilton Head Island, Bluffton and Beaufort Area

Veteran’s Day Discounts and Deals for the Hilton Head Island, Beaufort & Bluffton, SC area for 2016.

Anyone that knows me, knows I’m proud to be from a military family. My Step-Father was a Major in the Army, my Grandfather too (WWII), one of my Uncles a Lieutenant in Korea, and another who survived Vietnam to become a full bird Colonel.   I’m a die hard Army fan, even though my Navy boyfriend reminds me of the 14 years of losses in our annual football rivalry.   I’m not a fair-weather dude.  LOL.

But I do my best to support my military family.  So here’s my way of saying thanks to you, in finding not just the national discounts, but some local ones too.  If you know of anymore, please let me know via comment below so others can see!

I especially love supporting our LOCAL Mom & Pops and our Military Veterans and active service members together for a win-win.    Please verify availability at each location, as these were shared with me via public Facebook groups.

Thank you to all who have served!  God Bless America, You, and Your Families !

Let me know if I can serve you or someone you know with your real estate needs.  Offering a Military Discount of 1/2 percent commission reduction upon verification of service.

Bee at the Beach….

Lori Bee asks if you want to “Bee at the Beach?” 843.505.3132 eXp Realty

cropped-bee_at_the_beach1.jpg
New Logo. What do you think?

Rebranding is hard.   Or maybe I overthink it.  You want to appeal to everyone, but you want to be different.  You want to bee remembered.  Oh, there I go again.

So yes, for many years I was known as Bee Realty, when I had my own firm in Waxhaw, NC (Charlotte area).   I still own the domain name. And everyone knew me by my last name and logo.  It stood out.  Short. Easy.  Well, easier to remember than it is to forget that marriage.  HA HA!

But hey, I got a great name out of it.  Not to mention 18 yrs  and 2 beautiful kids.   I always look at the bright side. I’ve now had this name longer than I haven’t.  Bee positive !  😀

So now that I am back in full time sales, and can “brand” myself again…  well, why break it if it wasn’t broke.   So here’s my new logo designed by the fabulous Justin Oldt of Auditory Aesthetic Designs.  What do you think?  Is it me?  Does it make you want to “Bee at the Beach?”

And yes, of course I bought the domain name too: http://BeeAtTheBeach.com  And I certainly hope you will remember that for you or anyone else you know, who wants to live here.   Let me help y’all BEE here too!  843.505.3132

“Water, Water Everywhere. But Will There Be A Drop To Drink?”

Learn about how we protect one of the lowcountry’s most valuable resources: water!

I love where I live.  And important part of life here in the lowcountry is water.   We love our water.   So when I had a chance to join the Hilton Head Association of Realtors, Sustainability/Environmental  Task Force a couple of years ago, I jumped at the chance to become more involved at protecting the land, water and resources that make the lowcountry such an excellent place to live.

Our first priority was water. So we arranged for an informative panel to educate our fellow Realtors about the issues affecting our water quality.  Here is the e-mail we sent out:

Water, Water Everywhere –
But Will There Be a Drop to Drink?

Friday, June 10
9:00am – 10:30am
HHAAOR

PANELIST
Dick Deuel, Development Project Manager BJWSA
Kelley Ferda, General Manager South Island PSD
Pete Nardi, General Manager, Hilton Head PSD

Quality drinking water is at the forefront of many residents today. Did you ever wonder if we could be another Flint, MI? While we are surrounded by water, what is the future of our water supply in the Lowcounty and how can we help conserve it?

Come and learn from a panel of the area water supply companies
on how our local utilities are making sure that our lifestyle is preserved.
Be educated about how to answer questions from your customers and clients!
We held the event last Friday and below are my notes.  Honestly there was so much information, I couldn’t write it down fast enough so I encourage you also to take a good look at the info on the pictures slides as well.   We look forward to hosting a PUBLIC event for everybody to learn about how we protect, clean, and conserve our water resources here.   But I thought I’d share this info for now.  I also encourage you to look carefully at your bills and website for water quality information.  And never take it for granted what comes out of your tap, and do your part to protect and conserve!

The utilities on the island are 100% recycled for golf courses and wetlands. Unique program. 1 billion gallons a year!
3 utilities on island: Hilton Head PSD, Broad Creek PSD, and South Island PSD
45% of water is from reverse osmosis. 18% from wells in HHPSD.
9% drop in demand here. National trend.
12 million gallons available a day in HH PSD .
316 gallons per day per and customer. A lot of that is irrigation.  Best to be below 7000 gallons per month, per household.
Reverse osmosis plant treats 4 million gallons per day. Can expand to 6.
Floridian Aquifer 600ft deep
Aquifer holding system is VERY unique in that water is stored in the millions of gallons in the Earth’s crust and released when needed!
Savannah River supplies about 26% of water in HH PSD
Important that supply is diversified. IE Hurricanes!
Consumer confidence report online for BJWSA
Savannah River supplies 96% of BJWSA
There are plans of course to expand and prepare for the future thru plant expansions and pipeline extensions.
Aquifer wells offer unique and convenient, massive storage.
The water out of our tap is about a half a penny, 1500 times cheaper than bottled water!
All water utilities have a joint task force to prepare fore disasters: ie, Hurricanes & Earthquakes.
BJWSA uses the Floridian Aquifer less than 1%

And last but not least, here is a video from Beaufort Jasper Water on The Value of Water, that I think will put things in perspective for everyone!

Pat Conroy explains his love for Beaufort

Why Pat Conroy loved Beaufort, SC.

We loved Pat.  And he loved us.  And he certainly loved this magical place we call home, the low country.  And Pat especially loved Beaufort, saying “I could have chosen no better place on this planet, than Beaufort, South Carolina.”

We agree Pat.  We agree….

We will miss you, but your words will live on forever in the heart of South Carolina.

Selling the Lowcountry

sellingthelowcountry

So it’s been a bit since I blogged.   I really do most of my blogging and picture uploading on my Facebook page at Lowcountry Livin’.    And of course, my real estate site is at  LoriBee.com.    But I do need to be better at posting here too.   I really do take quite a few pictures.

This picture is how I sold a house earlier this year.  I call it “Selling the Low Country.”   I took out a blanket , a bottle of wine, and told the prospective buyer to sit and wait for the sunset.   Yeah… she bought.  😉

It’s not hard to sell life here.  It is so beautiful but I love documenting it and sharing it with all of you.

That being said, I love someone sharing my posts and pictures…. but WITH credit.   I know I’m not a professional photographer, but if I care enough to post the shot, it’s because I’m proud of it.  I don’t like others using it for their own commercial purposes.   I’m thinking I need to really start watermarking them.  Another way to slow me down from posting…. but a las, if I want to protect my work, and my love of the beauty I document, I guess I must.

But be prepared to see a few more shots posted here.  I’d love your thoughts and honest feedback on them.  And what do you want to see about the lowcountry, perhaps, that I may not have yet shared….    Let’s take new adventures together.

And of course, let me know if I can help you with living your dream here.  It would be my pleasure.
