This is awesome news for the area! I’m stoked!

NIXLE ALERT: “New Margaritaville development set for Hardeeville.

The city of Hardeeville is one of the fastest growing cities in the state of South Carolina. The trend will hopefully continue with the announcement of a new development being built along highway 278. Minto Communities and Margaritaville Holdings announced their second Latitude Margaritaville location today. It will be built in the city of Hardeeville on Highway 278, two and a half miles east of I-95.

The active adult residential community will feature homes built for the 55-and better community with a “no worries” tropical vibe of Margaritaville. The 2,739-acre community will include a 72-acres site for 290,000-square foot Margaritaville-inspired festive retail center. Earlier this year, Minto and Margaritaville holdings broke ground in Daytona Beach, Florida for the first Latitude Margaritaville community. Hardeeville Mayor, Harry Williams says, “Hardeeville will now become the place for retirees from across the country who want to enjoy the beauty and amenities of the region>” The mayor went on to say the retail shops and restaurants will make Hardeeville a destination spot for the entire Lowcountry area. The city of Hardeeville is excited about this venture. We truly look forward to working with Minto and Margaritaville holdings on the Hilton Head Latitude Margaritaville Community.”

Taking Care of Our Precious May River and Bluffton

Taking care of beloved May River and surrounding Bluffton, in honor of Earth Day 2016.

This morning I spent a few hours giving back to something that gives me so much joy, our precious May River, and surrounding Bluffton.  A guestimate of 150 volunteers or so, went by boat, by kayak and by foot, in and around our beloved May, and hit the surrounding streets picking up trash, to keep our river and town, clean.

It’s kind of dismaying that I picked up so much trash.  Especially recyclables that can be re-utilized.   But it also felt awesome, that I am a part of a community that gets together to make a difference.

Here are a few pictures from the event, the new Oyster Factory docks, and some things I noticed while walking around Bluffton, that I never seem to pay attention to when I’m driving.

Slow down a little.  Admire our town.  Take care of her and our May River.   And please don’t litter.  It’s just plain gross. Thanks!

Stewards of God’s Land … the legacy of Charles Fraser’s vision for Hilton Head Island

Charles Fraser’s vision of Hilton Head Island, is just a part of what makes it so special living here.

So grateful for the legacy left behind by men and women like Charles Fraser, so we can continue to appreciate God’s beauty of the land here in the lowcountry.   And yes, our people and lifestyle are a treasure to appreciate too.

Let me know if you’d like to be a part of our treasured community.
