Reasons to celebrate…

It’s been a while and this will be short, but expect to see more posts from me soon, but I have lots of reasons to celebrate during these trying times.  I always try to focus on the positive and hope you are too.

I’m celebrating my daughter Hannah who graduated with honors amongst the chaos of Covid 19, from Belmont University and just moved to Nashville permanently to pursue a career in music business.

I’m celebrating the health of my son Jacob who is Charlotte and praying that he finds another job soon. He’s super smart and great at health and nutrition which a lot people need right now, so I’m hoping he’ll focus on that vs Food and Beverage.

I’m celebrating that my husband Joe has kept his job at Gulfstream so far, although he was switched to weekends. But that may not be an entirely bad thing…

Because… I’m celebrating that I’m now back in real estate sales full time vs being in a Broker or Management position. That means I’ll have my weekends free to work with you or someone you know.

I’m celebrating eXp Realty because even though they had to make some recent cutbacks, this model was built for this economic crises. We still have over 60 hrs of live training and networking per week!

I’m also celebrating that we now have over 28,000 agents that I can refer you to in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia.

So in case you didn’t notice,  my name has changed.   Yes, that’s a good thing.  Actually, a great thing.   I got married on Black Friday, ending 47 years of Bachelorhood for my Joe.  LOL.

Actually, I’m the one that’s blessed… he waited 47 years to find “the one.”

We got married at home here in our barn. It was a gloriously beautiful fall day.  Just perfect.  I hope all of you will rejoice with us.  We are truly best friends, in love.

And as a side note, I’ve been crazily busy with work too.  Yes, I’m still in real estate. Still with eXp Realty.  It’ll be 4 years soon.  Since then we’ve grown from just over 1000 agents to 25,000+ nationally, and from 40 to well over 700 here in SC.  Production volume has grown from $90 million a year in 2017 to over $581 million here in SC, in 2019.  To say I’m proud, is an understatement! As Designated Managing Broker, I oversee operations in South Carolina for this wonderful company.

We have over 30 agents here locally to assist you, and I do referrals all the time.  Locally, statewide and nationally.  Let me know if I can assist you in finding your piece of paradise, like I’ve found mine.  It would be my pleasure.

Really blessed to work with such a fantastic Leadership Team within eXp Realty. I try not to talk about work TOO much here on Social Media, but having had the various experiences that I have in real estate management ranging from horrible to great in the past, I feel so fortunate to be in FANTASTIC status at this point in my career. The best ever. I can’t help but share and be grateful.

I give all the credit to God for answering so many prayers in bringing Steve Saunders, Patricia Kay Sanders, Jennifer Combs-Minyard, Matt Szalecki,Stacey Onnen, Glenn Sanford and my predecessor/mentor, Jim Girard into my life. Along with hundreds of wonderful agents (friends!) who get, that our goal is to make not just their careers better, but their lives too.

What a life changing company this has truly been for me so far. I so look forward to where this journey will lead to.

Second Chances

So I have been more than a bit absent here lately on this blog.   SO much has happened, and I haven’t had time to post. I’ll abbreviate it all quite a bit.

So I was promoted back in April to become the Assistant State Administrative Broker for eXp Realty.   Very honored to serve in that position, when suddenly in early May, my beloved boss and State Broker, Jim Girard, announced his retirement.   And then in June I was hired to be his replacement as the State Administrative Broker for eXp.  What a whirlwind!

As if the transition paperwork of 15 local REALTOR boards and 16 MLS’s across South Carolina wasn’t enough,  on June 15th, Joe and I managed to finally close on the home of our dreams and change our address.  We now live in a Morton Residential Barn Home in rural Jasper County closer to Savannah, and are loving it. But this move, in this heat with all the work, has not been fun.  I just keep reminding myself, just how truly blessed I am to have all these Second Chances, with love and life.   Hence why we refer to our mini-farm as Second Chance Farm.

I’m reminded of that quote from Ferris Bueller: “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”   I keep asking Joe to pinch me to prove it’s all happening.  So many dreams coming true…

I am currently only doing real estate sales and listings on a very limited basis, BUT I now manage  400+ excellent agents who can assist you all across the Palmetto state.  I am happy to place your referral in the best hands, so please give me a call at 843-505-3132 so I can assist you.  I love making dreams come true!

Put Your Love into Action

How are you going to put your love in action for Hurricane Harvey victims?

We saw love in action, here last fall in the lowcountry after Hurricane Matthew.  My headline photo for this blog post is from my beloved Bluffton.  We went thru quite a lot together last October and in the following months. And this graphic on the side of an old building in our historic sea village,  still remains a symbol of us coming together and being strong for one another. Loving one another.

And I just knew I had to be strong and be involved with helping however I could when I saw Hurricane Harvey looming off the Texas shoreline.  I don’t want anyone to feel alone.  I want them to feel loved and know that we will take care of each other.

So I’ve been busy.  I volunteered to help eXp agents affected by Hurricane Harvey.  I can’t begin to describe how grateful I am, for an awesome team of colleagues and staff who are doing such an amazing job.  I am proud to be a part of such an amazing group of people.

Especially seeing some of our agents, like George Huntoon and Sondra Richard, amongst others, going out and coordinating/conducting rescues…..

     

Just wow! The whole “Cajun Navy” has been doing remarkable things, and George and Sondra are love in action!  eXp will do whatever we can with the amazing resources our staff and fellow agents have, to help them show this amazing love across Texas and Louisiana.

And then tonight,  I saw this:

I sobbed. Didn’t you?  We’ve been so divided as a country in the last year or so.  Some would argue a hundred  years or more.

But it is so true.  We need to see love.  We need to recognize love.  And that comes in all colors.  Our country is amazing.  We need to see that too.  Let’s join together to do great things to help one another.
