I love fall. But especially here in Bluffton. It’s magical. Hard to describe but I try via my photos and video. They speak for our quaint little community, better than I ever could.

I had an appointment out on St. Helena Island this morning. I love visiting the Sea Islands of St. Helena, Harbor, Fripp and especially Hunting Island. It’s like something lures my soul out there to recharge. And that is what I did today, just soaking all that beauty and peacefulness in.

Today I attended the Hilton Head Area Association of Realtors, Professional Development session on “How to Buy and Sell in Palmetto Bluff.” It featured an exclusive preview of the brand new Moreland Village neighborhood.

A friendly dolphin smiles at us after stealing our bait!
You never who you are going to run into, and make friends with here around the lowcountry. On this occasion, it was a very friendly dolphin. It was obvious he was used to boats and fishermen. Probably some well meaning tourists and even locals, have fed him, but we highly recommend against that because then they tend to lose their ability to hunt for themselves and they also get injured getting too close to boat propellers.
We enjoyed his posing for the camera and his truly friendly smile from afar. And the only food he got was the bait off the hooks he stole from us before we even realized it. I think the smile was his ornery way of saying, “gotcha.” 😀
Why Pat Conroy loved Beaufort, SC.
We loved Pat. And he loved us. And he certainly loved this magical place we call home, the low country. And Pat especially loved Beaufort, saying “I could have chosen no better place on this planet, than Beaufort, South Carolina.”
We agree Pat. We agree….
We will miss you, but your words will live on forever in the heart of South Carolina.

Yeah that’s a little too deep for me too. LOL. But I do absolutely love it here. Check out this video and you’ll understand why.
Dolphins in the lowcountry are smart. I would say smarter than any others in the world, and this video is proof. I’ve seen this a few times in real life, and to say it is cool is an understatement. Enjoy this miracle from the tidal marshes of the lowcountry. It is breathtaking.
